Contact Lenses

Roisin and Judith are very experienced contact lens practitioners.  Through a detailed assessment they will be able to determine which contact lenses are suitable to you.  Your new lenses will then be assessed on the eyes to see how well they fit, how you adapt to them and how well you can see.
You will then be shown how to insert and remove the contact lenses from your eyes, and given time to practice this with the practitioner.

Ortho-K

Roisin is one of the few Opticians in the area who offers Orthokeratology (Ortho-K).  This remarkable therapy allows you freedom from the daytime use of specacles or contact lens.
Roisin prescribes a contact lens that you wear while sleeping which gently reshapes the front of your eye so that after sleep your vision is corrected without any spectacles or contact lens.
This treatment is very safe and reversible.
We use a special instrument called a Corneal Topographer which maps the shape of your eye and allows us to prescribe a customised lens to get the best result possible.
This procedure works best for patients who have up to about -4.00D of myopia with no more than -1.50D of astigmatism.
